Sleep and Us have gone our seperate ways

Our little angel is a sleep stealer who for the past week has done his best to make sure his parents are awake, awake, awake.  Jude has been going through some changes, much of which had to do with his teeth but now maybe he is just growing, growing, growing.  We love him so.  He has so much energy and even when he winds down and you think he will nap for a good while, he just proves to us that a young toddler only needs a good 15 minutes to recharge himself.  Productivity has been difficult but we are hoping for a break in the storm.

New Handmade Books

The fancy blue and flower printed books are designed with a Katazome paper which has been printed by hand.  The orange book is designed with a Chiyogami paper that has been silk screened.  Both types of paper are tedious to make and add to the unique beauty of these handmade books as objects.  To learn more about these books and how they are made or to obtain one for yourself, please visit

Valentine Kissers

Introducing Valentine Kissers! A newly featured item now listed on made specifically for Valentines day.  Sam and I have been making these origami lips for years just for fun and they have always delighted people because they can open and close like a real mouth.  We decided it would be a neat idea to offer these up to the public for Valentine festivities.  Little notes in the shape of hearts can fit snuggly into the mouths themselves while they are in standing position.  These lips can be a sweet Valentine sentiment when left behind for a friend to discover.  For more information you can click on the link above.

Handmade Sketchbook Journals with Chiyogami Cover Design

I have been working on a new series of sketchbook journals that have Chiyogami paper on the cover.  The Chiyogami paper is absolutely beautiful and a costs a good amount for a small sheet but makes for a gorgeous book cover design.  I am very excited to present the others of which there will be 10.

Here is some really interesting information about how this Chiyogami Paper is made:
To create a single sheet of Chiyogami, each base sheet is silkscreened with as many colours as there are in that particular pattern – in most cases, four or five colours. After the base sheet has been pasted to a wooden board for stability during the silkscreening process, the first screen silkscreen is registered and ink applied. Each sheet of paper is dried on racks to allow the ink to dry between applications. The screens for subsequent colours are painstakingly registered so that the colour layers lie precisely in relation to each other.

New Year Outlook

Reflecting back on things past with the fuzziness of memory in order to live more truthfully in the present.  Each day is a gift not intended to be wasted or discarded.  Inspiration is brought forth by action and not the other way around.
